It’s hard to believe that a few months back we could enter most businesses without a face covering. Fast forward many uncertain months later and face coverings are now becoming the new norm in daily life.
Some have taken the precautions when surrounded by unknown people and worn it when needed. Others have gone against it feeling it doesn’t conform to their human rights.
Either way, it’s still good to know which face coverings are most effective and Sky News have had scientists test 14 types that are being sold on the market today.
Here are the results, along with Sky News image in reference to the face coverings:
1. N95 mask, no exhalation valve, fitted (14)
2. Surgical mask (1)
3. Cotton-polypropylene-cotton mask (5)
4. Two-layer polypropylene apron mask (4)
5. Two-layer cotton, pleated style mask (13)
6. Two-layer cotton, pleated style mask (7)
7. N95 mask with exhalation valve (2)
8. Two-layer cotton, Olston style mask (8)
9. One-layer Maxima AT mask (6)
10. One-layer cotton, pleated style mask (10)

13. Bandana (12)
14. Gaiter type neck fleece (11)
It’s great to see that our premium range SafeAIRr face masks are within the Top 6, including the following quoted by the team behind the research,
“Handmade cotton face coverings were also shown to perform well and eliminated a substantial amount of spray from normal speech.”
All our face masks are made with OEKO-TEX/BCI standard cotton, with duplex layering and additional filter slots.

Nirmal Singh Saggu and Anju Ahluwalia started food 4 all in mid-2016 from the Namdhari Gurdwara on Upton lane in Forest Gate, East London.
The idea was to help those less fortunate than ourselves and provide the homeless and low-income individuals and families with at least a hot meal twice a week.
When Covid broke it was just a natural progression to continue feeding these amazing souls in and around Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and other parts of East London and Essex. Nirmal & Anju did this Seva while they were still doing their day jobs with the help of volunteers. Providing around 700 meals a week grew to at least up to 4000 meals a week 4 days s a week and now as Covid measures have been relaxed around 1200 meals are cooked 2 times a week.
Food4All are ready for, if a peak does come again to support as many people as they can as they know how important these meals are for the individuals that needed it.
Food4All provide these meals as they are needed not just because of the Covid but also pre covid they were and still will be needed
As part of our fundraising, we are selling our branded face masks to raise money to give back to the community. We are currently taking pre-orders for anyone who would like to buy and donate to Food4AllUK.

The team at Food4All have had a difficult 6 weeks, it has being amazing how people have stepped up and helped us during this time when we have dealt with the difficult situation of not knowing if our brother was going to come home.
With the personal heart break we were going through as a family, it was important for us to continue with the support that we have given to the needy in terms of providing a hot vegetarian meal.
We are so happy that Jit came home over the bank holiday weekend from hospital and is building on his journey of rehabilitation over the next year.
We have had Food4All face masks made for the charity in the name of Jit so that we can raise money for the charity, as Food4All is close to Jit heart and every Saturday evening would join Food4All local feed to the homeless in East London.
Please help us to motivate Jit with his rehabilitation and him knowing that Food4All is still doing the amazing work it has. Please donate £15 and a face mask will be delivered to you.

That’s not the case for others and you’re probably wondering why such a title would make it on our blogs. Well, it’s because humans really don’t get each other and understand other situations.
You’re healthy, we get it! But you’ve forgotten about those with underlying health conditions who are more vulnerable to some of the airborne diseases that are lurking. COVID has only made light of the seriousness if you do ever catch an airborne virus.
If you follow our Facebook page, you’ve sometimes seen the extreme abuse that is posted up by individuals across the world. These are people who have only thought about themselves and don’t even have a relative with underlying health issues. I’m not sure if those trolls realize, but you should check out our PM2.5 filter and understand the air quality around you.
Our technology products have been manufactured to change the way you interact with advertising and are hygiene beneficial. Our masks are there for those who want to purchase it and if you don’t like it, please, don’t comment. We don’t like waking up every morning deleting and banning trolls, but we have to do it.
We have the utmost care for our customers and what they purchase, we are a small family business who have taken the bull by the horns and launched a business, with aims to provide jobs in the near future.
We will be launching products that will benefit you or those around you, but if you’re healthy, we get it!
It’s all so confusing, isn’t it? Not one governing body can exactly tell us what the situation is right now. We’ve got government officials contradicting each other and WHO has only just announced recently that wearing face covers can stop the spread.
I mean WHO does get funded globally and it’s not like they’ll have an issue using all that towards understanding the symptoms, as well as advising the globe on how we can move forward easily. Yet that’s not the case as they have lost the plot?
We’re talking about a globally funded agency whose job it is to make sure things like Covid-19 don’t spread as they have. They were well aware of the situation in Wuhan before any media outlet or outside the government had a sniff, yet they left it too late for other countries to react.
Kudos to New Zealand and Jacinda Ardern, who have only had around 22 deaths and have lifted the lockdown. This to us is true leadership, especially when she was able to lock down her borders much earlier and respond quicker than some of the mindless leaders globally who only want profit.
What’s more frustrating is when you thought we were trying to be more eco-friendly around the world, they decide to allow non-medical masks that cannot be reused and only have one day of usage. I mean what is the point screaming ‘CLEANER WORLD’, when you’ve just added more trash on top of the trash we’ve got piled up globally, and that’s not talking about some of the leaders.
Going back to the point, what is WHO doing to get the world moving forward? What is their protocol for countries? It seems like most countries are being left to handle it themselves and implement what they think will work. So far, that seems to be a failure as cases haven’t dropped and are averaging 100,000+ cases a day.
What is PM2.5?
PM2.5 refers to atmospheric particulate matter (PM) that has a diameter of fewer than 2.5 micrometres, roughly a 3% diameter of the human hair.
Why should I care?
Classed as fine particles, PM2.5 are in a category so small that they can only be seen through a microscope. If you haven’t seen the official government information pack, click here.
Fine particles can be found through various sources including power plants, motor vehicles, aeroplanes, emitted directly into the air formed when gases and particles interact in the atmosphere.
Should I use your PM2.5 filters?
It’s personal choice alongside our range of premium masks, but it is recommended to add this especially in crowded places. It’s a protection against particles, so it’s a healthy choice to have.
It’s also appreciated by those around you especially if you feel unwell (not COVID related) and a hayfever sufferer. We want to get back to normality so why not be that extra cautious in unknown surroundings.
How long will one PM2.5 filter last?
There isn’t a recommendation on usage as each individual will need it based on their day to day runnings. Our recommendation would be 1-day use or if you travel up to 2 hours per day, then they will last between 18 – 22 days.
You can purchase our filters at a reasonable price compared to the market
Here are some sources for you to get more information about the PM2.5 filters:
We’ve entered a new unknown, as countries are lifting lockdown slowly, hoping to get things back to normal. This is great for our economy and will drive some money back into the system, but honestly people, do some research and talk to other countries who are in lockdown.
The Guardian has just reported that Beijing, Capital of China, are implementing stricter rules, due to a new spike in cases of Covid-19. This article is not to scare mong or anything, it’s simply to say to those who love a bit of bullying and trolling, let us stop, breathe, and think for a moment.
“Authorities in Beijing have locked down residential compounds and fired officials over the new outbreak, health officials have given a warning, that the risk of another outbreak is “very high”.
This is coming from The Guardian, who is a highly regarded tabloid in the United Kingdom. We’re spending unnecessary time during the day deleting unwanted comments, as we believe, what we’re doing is best for our customers.
Some companies are ruthless in overcharging on face masks, we have done our fact find research, in one case a lady spent £160 on a few masks for her family, that weren’t up to standard. Right now, healthyads.co.uk is offering 8 masks for £48 for a family set, which by value, quality is great and affordable.
Did I mention quality? Our partners in the European Union, SafeAIRr, have been in the garment industry for over 50 years, providing quality garments and service to clients globally, they have moved operations to ease the burden on the global capacity to non-medical masks.
Which we are able to provide here within the UK market, at a much better price, compared to the polythene, homemade or unknown substitutes to so-called masks.
We have some collections, which are fitted with nose benders, this allows comfort alongside the highly woven duplex layered cotton. SafeAIRr has an internal research and development department, who love creating new textiles to enter the market, not forgetting the endless amount of creativity oozing into their new line of face masks.
We understand face masks aren’t for everyone and that’s fine, it is a personal choice, but we need to stop making judgment on small businesses, who are just trying to survive during economic turmoil.
